Home Invasion Robbery

 

The Carmel Police Department is requesting assistance with identifying two suspects involved in an home invasion robbery that took place in the 11200 block of Woodbury Drive, Carmel, IN on 08-24-2017 at approximately 4:00 pm.

 

Suspect #1 – Black male approximately 5’9” athletic build in his late 20’s to early 30’s with black hair wearing a black tank top, black sweatpants, black tennis style shoes with white soles, and blue gloves.

 

Suspect #2 – Black male approximately 5’7” athletic build in his middle to late 20’s with black hair wearing a black tank top, black sweatpants, black tennis style shoes with white soles, a black baseball style hat with a flat bill, and blue gloves

 

Suspect Vehicle – 2 door sedan gold/beige and/or silver/gray with an Indiana registration plate starting with the letters VH.

Armed Robbery Apprehension

 

On Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at 3:23 p.m., Carmel Police responded to an armed robbery at the AT&T retail store located at 10485 N. Michigan Road. Two suspects entered the store and held customers and employees at gunpoint. The suspects forced the employees to provide several thousands of dollars in merchandise before exiting the store.   A short time later, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were able to locate the suspect vehicle. After a brief foot pursuit, both subjects, one adult male and one juvenile male were apprehended.

 

Juvenile information:

 

-Name not released       - 12 YOA male

o   Charges are pending

 

Adult Information:

 

-          Jalen Joiner – 23 YOA Black male of Indianapolis

o   Robbery x 2– Level 3 Felonies

o   Theft – Level 6 Felony

o   Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – Level 2 Felony

o   Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon Level 4 Felony

o   Pointing a Firearm x 4 – Level 6 Felonies

o   Carrying a handgun without a license – Class A Misdemeanor

o   Carrying a handgun without a license – Level 5 Felony

o   Criminal Confinement x 6 – Level 3 Felonies

o   Intimidation x 4 – Level 5 Felonies

 

Joiner was transported to the Hamilton County Jail for further processing.  Bond was set at $500,000.  The Juvenile was transported to Hamilton County Juvenile Center for further processing.

 

The Carmel Police would like to express appreciation to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for their assistance in the case.
