Bike Carmel returns in 2018 with 5 rides

Carmel, IN – Are you looking for a way to get outside a little more this summer?  Hitting the paths and trails in Carmel, Indiana is one of the easiest (and most fun) things you can do with your family!

The City of Carmel’s Bike Carmel events are designed to give riders a chance to experience many of the less traveled multi-use paths and trails throughout the City including their beautiful views.

FAMILY FUN RIDE – May 12, June 9, August 11; 10 a.m. – These family- friendly rides take place on Saturday mornings, each beginning at 10 a.m. with registration, followed by a short safety seminar at 11 a.m. and then the ride rolls out.

At these events, we’ll show you and your children the proper way to wear a helmet, the best ways to be visible to others when you’re out and most importantly, the rules of the road. We’ll also make sure you’re properly sized for your bike. After the demonstration, we’ll put those brand new skills to the test and head out for a three-to-five mile route on Carmel’s best multi-use paths and trails.

Plan to stick around after the ride for free caricatures, face painting and the Carmel Clay Mobile Library. Carmel residents will be able to sign up for a free public library card while they’re here. More vendors will be on site with chances to win great prizes!

  • May 12: Prairie Trace Elementary School
  • June 9: Woodbrook Elementary School
  • August 11 – University Green at the Village of West Clay

RIDE, DINE AND DANCE – July 7 and August 18; 5 p.m. - You’ll want to find a sitter when you join us for these Saturday evening Ride, Dine and Dance rides! We’re partnering with the Carmel Arts & Design District’s “Late Night on Main” street party. The fun begins with registration on Main Street at 5 p.m., not far from where a live band will be playing in the street later that night.

Restaurants, galleries and local businesses will be burning the midnight oil, staying open late for you. The 10-mile route will roll out at 6:30 p.m., which will give you plenty of time to get back to Main Street to enjoy dinner then dance the night away! The live music at Range Line Road and Main Street starts at 9 p.m. Registration is $15 in advance and $20 day of.

If you’ve been looking for the right time to get into biking, this Bike Carmel series is perfect for you and your kids! All Family Fun Rides are free and we ask that you register online in advance. Visit and click “Events” for registration information and more details!
