Republic Trash Services Delayed This Week

blue_trash_cart

Carmel, IN – Due to the predicted severe cold weather, Republic will suspend trash service for tomorrow, Wednesday January 30th. This will delay trash pick-up by one day throughout the week, which means homes that normally get picked up on Wednesday will get picked up Thursday, Thursday will get picked up Friday, and Friday will get picked up Saturday.

Trash Landfills and transfer stations are closing on Wednesday due to dangerously frigid temperatures. Therefore, Republic Services would not have a means to dispose of the trash Wednesday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of minus 3 degrees Fahrenheit for Wednesday, with wind chill values exceeding 25 degrees below zero. These are dangerous conditions for Republic drivers and homeowners who will need to put trash out and retrieve carts.

Delaying service is not ideal, but when extreme weather causes transfer stations and landfills to shut down, this is the best course of action. Thank you for your understanding.
