Several historical markers have been placed throughout Carmel's Old Town area, concentrated in the Arts & Design District, to inform residents and visitors about our city's history and interesting architectural features. 1. FIRST CARMEL PUBLIC LIBRARY
The plaque is placed on an art gallery wall across from Woody’s Library Restaurant at 40 E. Main Street.

2. CARMEL THEATER
The plaque is placed on the right of the entrance to an Event Planning shop at 1. S. Rangeline Road.

3. SILENT FILM THEATER
The plaque is located on the outside wall of the Carmel Antique Mall, 38 W. Main Street

4. CARMEL’S FIRST DOCTOR’S OFFICE
You can find the plaque on the right side of the entrance to the Great Frame Up,  21 First Street SW, behind the Indiana Design Center

5. 22 WEST MAIN STREET
The plaque was placed just left of entrance of the Butcher building, which is on the northwest corner of Main Street and Range Line Road.

6. CARNEGIE BUILDING
A plaque was placed on the original Carnegie Library (1913), 40 E. Main Street, which is now Woody's Library Restaurant.

7. LUMBERYARD MALL
There is a plaque at 141 First Street SW.

8. CARMEL FIRE DEPARTMENT MUSEUM
There is a large freestanding plaque briefly outlining the Carmel Fire Department's 111 year history located in front of the original Fire Department building (1956)  at 210 First Avenue SW.
