The Carmel Clay Plan Commission helps manage the city's growth and development. The Plan Commission also helps the City Council develop and update City Ordinances, the Comprehensive Plan, the Thoroughfare Plan and other long-range plans for housing, transportation, neighborhood development, parks, commercial development and public facilities. The Plan Commission consists of 11 voting members. The Plan Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in City Hall at One Civic Square, on the second floor in the Chambers. Plan Commission Committees
The purpose of these meetings is for in-depth review of the issues that have been brought to the Plan Commission for consideration. however, negotiation, and formulation of a recommendation to the full Plan Commission. Therefore, the public is welcome to attend these meetings, but generally not invited to speak. Only under exceptional circumstances will the committee vote to accept public input of new issues to insure proper assessment of the petition. Special sessions may be held from time to time.
THe Special Studies Committee and the Subdivision Committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Caucus Rooms in City Hall.
Other Plan Commission committees include:
Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) - meets the third Wednesday of the month.
Hearing Officer - meets as needed.
Impact Fee Advisory Committee - meets as needed.
Bicycle Route Task Force - meets as needed.
