Businesses wanting to employ private traffic control officers are required by ordinance to obtain a permit for the location of the proposed traffic control.  Individuals acting as private traffic control officers at that location are also required to obtain permits.

Completed permit applications are forwarded to the Chief of Police for approval or denial.  Once a decision has been made, the Business is notified of the Chief’s decision.  

  • Traffic Control Location Permit - $500 – required with application
  • Traffic Control Officer Permit - $10 – required with application

Payment options accepted are cash and certified check only.  Permits are valid for 1 year from date of issue.

Persons conducting private traffic control without a permit are subject to ticketing and fines.
