The Ethics Board was established through Ordinance No. D-1846-07 on June 18, 2007, and amended with Ordinance No. D-2353-17 to help facilitate the Code of Ethics in Carmel city government. This is a recommending Board to the Common Council regarding changes to the Ethics Code, to provide a program of continuing education for City employees, officers and elected officials and to review formal complaints received regarding Ethics Code violations.

The Board consists of five members; two appointed by the Mayor and two appointed by the Common Council. The fifth member is appointed by the Clay Township Trustee. Meetings are held as needed and conform to the Indiana Open Door Law.

  Appointed by the Mayor to a 2-year term, ending 1/1/2024

Sarah Ogren
  Appointed by the Common Council to a 2-year term, ending 1/1/2026

John Terry
  Appointed by the Clay Township Trustee to a 2-year term, ending 1/1/2025

Mike Kuhfeld
  Appointed by the Common Council to a 2-year term, ending 1/1/2025

Miriam Smulevitz Dant
  Appointed by the Mayor to a 2-year term, ending 1/1/2025
