Facilitating City Growth
Advancing initiatives that lead to city growth, the Economic Development team works in partnership to implement the vision for advancing Carmel’s status as a world-class city.
Working with existing businesses and attracting new businesses to the community, in conjunction with the Indiana Governor’s Office, Indiana Economic Development Corporation and private economic development consultants, is a central role of the Economic Development team. The staff also works with developers seeking to add to the city’s built environment ensuring current and future residents have a variety of options where they can live and work in Carmel. In doing so, the city seeks to both respond to projects brought to it, as well as prompt the market to undertake transformational projects.
The Economic Development team also:
- Negotiates economic incentives for projects growing or coming to Carmel
- Works to support workforce development initiatives within Carmel
- Engages with OneZone (Carmel/Fishers Chamber of Commerce), Visit Hamilton County (Convention and Visitors Bureau) and Indy Partnership to participate in regional economic development efforts

Our team is committed to attracting new businesses to Carmel, supporting the growth and success of existing businesses, as well as enhancing the infrastructure and environment that fosters a thriving community. It is a privilege to imagine – and work toward – making this already vibrant and unique city an even more hospitable and inspiring place to live and work.
