Adam Aasen, Vice President

Adam Aasen was first elected to the Carmel City Council in 2019, representing Southeast Carmel. In addition to Aasen’s City Council role, he is a CarmelFest committee member, involved in Synergize, and a Carmel Rotary member. Aasen’s past community involvement includes being a Janus Development Services board member, Carmel Education Foundation board member, and is a past neighborhood HOA board member. He was named Volunteer of the Year for OneZone in 2019.
Currently, Aasen is a Communication Specialist for CBRE. With deep experience in communications, Aasen has been a reporter in Hamilton County and across the country, and worked at the Statehouse in communications. Aasen was also a co-owner of an Italian restaurant in Carmel for more than a decade.
Aasen grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from North Central High School and Indiana University-Bloomington with degrees in journalism and political science.
Some work on the City Council that Aasen is proud of includes voting to bring Needler’s Fresh Market to Southeast Carmel, introducing a successful ordinance to protect cats and dogs, and championing pedestrian safety in his area, leading to two new crosswalks installed as a result.
In his free time, Aasen enjoys collecting vinyl records, riding his bike, watching movies, cooking Italian food, walking his Shiba Inu, and playing with his daughter.
