The City of Carmel offers notary public services free of charge. There are notaries public in the following locations, but it is best to call first to make sure someone is available.
Regular office hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- Hours: 9 – 11 am and 1-3 pm, no appointment necessary
- Carmel residents only.
- Must be 18 or older.
- We are not able to notarize documents pertaining to land transactions.
- We cannot notarize W9 forms.
- Some international documents may not be able to be notarized.
- Notaries can only notarize documents in languages in which they are fluent.
- All documents must include either (1) a designated notary section on the form being notarized, or (2) a separate Indiana Notarial Certificate that accompanies the document.
- A separate Indiana Notarial Certificate will be stapled to the document being notarized. If your situation does not allow for this, you will need to find another notary.
- It is up to the person having the document notarized to provide the Indiana Notarial Certificate. You may find them online by searching Indiana Notarial Certificates.
- The Notary is not legally allowed to suggest what proper form to use.
- Witnesses: If your documents require witnesses, please bring them with you.
- All parties signing the documents must be present at the time of notarization.
- A valid photo ID is required.
