Kwan Hui, Bio Med in education, Ph.D. Pharmacology, research scientist in Harvard Medical School and Mass General Hospital 1982-1988. He is retired from Eli Lilly & Co. drug discovery research.
Kwan is interested in community activities specifically in cultural diversities. He is the past president (1996) of the Nationalities Council of Indiana, past (1994) and current (2023) president of Indiana Association of Chinese Americans (IACA, 501c3 since 1973). He is an active event planner in the local International, Asian, and Chinese American festivals. He served as a community planning representative for the ‘Take Me There, China” exhibition of The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. He was a board member of the Asian Arts Society of IMA-Newfields. Kwan is an active partner in Asian-American culture activities in IUPUI, Purdue University, IU Bloomington, IPL, and the Indy Community Requirement Program of Butler University. He is also the coordinator of the IACA art program, local Chinese music groups, CarmelFest Chinese-American parade troupe, an advisor to the young musician group WHAM (We Have All Music), a member of the Rotary Club of Carmel, and he has special interest in Oriental gardening and landscape design.
