Raju Chinthala is the Founder & President of Indiana-India Business Council and a leader in multiple other internationally focused nonprofits, he has been a key player in the successful negotiations to encourage investments in the State by major Indian corporations, including a 2017 investment decision by Infosys, Ltd. that will create 3000 new, well-paying jobs and $300M investments to Indianapolis by 2024. Maintains strong relationship with local, state and federal elected officials and private organizations, and several local universities, businesses and corporations. Raju also serves as a Sr. Advisor for India at Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), State of Indiana.
Member of Mayor's Advisory Commission on Human Relations since 2015 & President of Carmel Midtown Building Corporation since 2017, Appointed by Mayor James Brainard, City of Carmel.
Raju played a key role in establishing Sister State relationship between Indiana and Karnataka in 2017, Sister City relationship between Indianapolis and Hyderabad in 2010 as well as Sister City relationship between Columbus and Pune in 2018, and most recently the Sister City relationship between Carmel and Visakhapatnam, AP, India in 2023.
Recipient of numerous honors and awards. He was honored with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joseph R. Biden in 2022. Recognized two times with the Sagamore of the Wabash Award, Indiana’s highest civilian honor by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb in 2017 & Governor Mike Pence in 2015.
Holding a master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in Speech and Hearing from All India Institute of Speech & Hearing, Mysore, India.
Raju moved to the US in 1994 and currently resides in Carmel, Indiana with wife Dr. Prasanna Chinthala, son Anoop Chinthala and a dog Snowball. His personal interest includes photography, fitness, natural health, networking and being a gadget fanatic and reading about new technologies.
