Much of Carmel’s beauty is derived from street trees. Carmel has been recognized as a Tree City USA for many years because we are dedicated to preserving and increasing the number of trees in our community. Biggest Trees in the News
Recently, the City’s Urban Forestry Committee invited residents to submit their biggest trees in a contest centered around Arbor Day. Citizens of Carmel gathered their measurements and submitted their entries to identify the biggest trees in Carmel in 13 species categories.
Carmel Street Tree Inventory Data
As of 2024, 35,463 trees inventoried, inventory found 195 species representing 71 genera.
