Operations Division
The Chief has the responsibility of managing 171 sworn personnel.
The department divisions consist of the following:
- Fire Suppression
- Emergency Medical Services
- Safety and Training
- Quartermaster
- Planning & Communications
- Facilities & Support Services
The Fire Suppression Division is responsible for providing direct services to the citizens of Carmel.
Services rendered include:
- Fire Suppression
- Search and Rescue
- Emergency Medical Services (Provided by Paramedics and EMTs)
- Hazardous Materials
- Extrication from vehicles and machinery
- Water Rescue
- Our Fire Suppression Division is divided into three shifts of 53 sworn personnel which operate on a 24-hour cycle.
Each shift is led by a Battalion Chief and Executive Officer

The Fire Suppression Division Personnel operate out of six stations which are strategically located throughout the City of Carmel and Clay Township.
