The Carmel Police Department, in partnership with Carmel Clay Schools, invites you to participate in our Carmel Youth Academy.
The goals of the academy include increased self-confidence, improved decision-making skills and enhanced leadership skills, creating positive relationships, and having fun!
The Carmel Youth Academy will provide children, ages 11-12, an introduction to the field of law enforcement and an understanding of law enforcement’s role in our community.
Our academy will include guest speakers, tours of the police department and fire department facilities, team building exercises, a service project to give back to our community, a mock crime scene investigation, games, and more!
It is our hope that children will build confidence while learning good decision-making and leadership skills. There is no charge to attend the youth academy. Class sizes are limited. When possible, social distancing will be practiced; however, with the physical nature of the camp, social distancing may not be possible at all times.
The daily schedule will consist of physical activities, classroom instruction, and team building exercises. Each day ends with a physical or social activity.
